What is Invisalign?

Used to treat irregularities in the alignment of teeth, Invisalign is a painless and discreet way to straighten teeth using a series of custom-made, almost invisible aligners.During your initial visit, your dentist will decide on your course of treatment, take bite impressions of your teeth and send them to Invisalign. Using advanced technology, a series of custom-made clear and removable aligners will be made.

Each set of aligners will be worn for approximately 2 weeks at a time, and your dentist will monitor your progress on a regular basis. Total treatment time averages 9 to 15 months, but will vary on a case by case basis.

WAG ABBEY's £5million Smile:

WAG Abbey Clancy has an "Ugly" secret that's been tipped to boost her earnings by £5million.

After years of hating her teeth, she copied TV's Ugly Betty by wearing a brace for the past year.

Now the 23-year-old - the fiancee of footie ace Peter Crouch - has told how she fixed her 'goofy' smile with the invisible dental brace the invisalign.

And she's been told that thanks to her new smile she could earn millions TV work.

She had the Invisalign treatment at her Tracey Bell clinic in her homecity of Liverpool.

Patients are fitted with invisible aligners which can be removed to eat, drink and floss.

Gary Lineker’s new bride is delighted with the results of cosmetic dentistry, it has been reported.

Lingerie model Danielle Bux spent some £2,000 on teeth whitening and Invisalign braces so she would have a perfect smile when tying the knot, explained the News of the World.

A source told the newspaper the 30-year-old went for the clear braces so she could get her gnashers straightened, without any wires being visible.

"She also got her teeth whitened like many brides do – to make them sparkle for her big day," the insider added.

Lineker’s better half is not the only famous face to have worn Invisalignclear braces.

Actress Katherine Heigl – who starred in films 27 Dresses and Knocked Up – has also used the treatment to correct a crooked tooth before her wedding day.

In an interview with InStyle, she commented: "Pretty much the perfect way to describe Invisalign is Netflix for your teeth."

Clear braces ‘will catch on’:

Although clear braces are not yet as popular as metal ones, they will soon catch on, a dentist has asserted.

In an interview with Jakarta Globe, Linus Boekitwetan explained how a representative from the Invasilgn brand came to train local doctors how to carry out the procedure.

He noted the growing trend was currently popular with people in their 20s, adding around 90 per cent of those who undergo the procedure are women.

Dr Boekitwetan explained to the website how clear braces are made and work.

Firstly, an impression of the teeth is sent to a lab and comes back as a three-dimensional image, showing what the outcome of the procedure will be like.

"It’s pretty amazing. After the 3-D imaging is approved from our end, the lab starts the fabrication of the invisible aligners and sends them back to us," stated the oral health expert.

"No one will ever be able to tell you have them on. No metal, no wiring, no bending."
